The Importance of the Recorder's Office

One of the main functions of the Recorder's office is to record all the land transactions that occur in Winneshiek County. The ownership of every parcel of land in the county begins here at the Recorder's office. These records are kept forever, so it is vital that every transaction be preserved and indexed in such a way that it will be retrievable for future generations. Every record noted in the abstract of your property began here in the Recorder's office. It is a privilege to state that I am the only candidate being endorsed by Winneshiek Title & Abstract Company, respected abstracting firm for Winneshiek County since 1896.

The Recorder's office also represents state agencies such as the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Iowa Department of Public Health by providing direct service to the county's citizens.

As the only certified passport acceptance agent for Winneshiek County, I work for the US Department of State and go through a yearly inspection and certification process.

The work done at the Recorder's office affects all the citizens of the county in important ways. With more than fifteen years of experience in the office as Deputy Recorder, I am confident in my ability to continue providing excellent service to the residents of Winneshiek County.
